Sometimes a Photo Captures So Much More than You Realize or Expect...

Sometimes a Photo Captures So Much More than You Realize or Expect...

If I were to sum up one of my recent visits with little Elijah, his parents and his two handsome brothers, that is how I would describe it. This image capturing his joyful smile is beautiful...but it becomes incredible if you know the story behind it.

More Than A Child Standing

I did not expect him to stand up! Elijah is learning how to walk again after being incredibly sick last fall. Talk about a tearful moment. I photographed this sweet little man a couple of years ago. A lot has changed in two years, but he still has the ability to make my heart SWELL. Such a sweet family...

We never know what tomorrow holds, but God does; He is forever holding Elijah's hand, and through him is giving his family such joy.

During the part of my session in McKinney with Elijah and these very 'smile-inspiring' balloons, we ran into a friend of his.

More Than A Chance Meeting

I started snapping pictures, not knowing at the time that Elijah's friend was injured while serving our country. Brandon Byers has been faced with his own serious challenges and I ask you to visit his family's blog titled "I Will Walk Beside You". And don't forget to thank him and the next veteran you meet.

You are reading this because he and many others fought for your freedom to do so.

I'm still amazed that I was given the honor of capturing a moment between two brave fighters.... different battlefields but kindred courage.

It just strikes me every time I see this photo....where would we be without the family that walks with us? And when we cannot walk, who are we without those who are there faithfully to lift us up and carry us to wherever the path may lead?

I hope you will think of me when you are in that place where you realize the need to document the important minutes with more than just a portrait, a snapshot, or photo. I would love to be there for it!

You can view the rest of Elijah's album by visiting our Facebook Page. You'll also see more of my recent session at the Dallas Arboretum where the happy faces and tulips abound! There is also a portrait of our star of the spring season...Lamson.  If you missed last Saturday's lamb portraits, you have just one more chance to forego the bunny suit at the mall and take part in a session unlike the rest. Call me at 214.407.2359 and I can get you booked for this last Lamson Session right away!

A Gorgeous Couple Helps Me Remember What Young Love Was Like

I love to say often that the experience of photographing people at various "mile marker" moments in their lives is as much a gift for me as I hope my images will be for them. And I was bowled over by the expressions of Marcus and Frankie....they still have me speechless!

We met up during a day of gorgeous weather in Downtown Dallas, Deep Ellum. Young Love... I had almost forgotten what it felt like to be head over heels and engaged. But these two were great reminders! I just can't get over the looks they gave each other and the camera...they let it all show! Love, promise, future, excitement, joy, playfulness, commitment; it was all there!

And if the beautiful couple of Frankie and Marcus wasn't enough...what a venue. I really enjoyed capturing them among the many awesome scenes that the Arts District has to offer.

This Mom Gives New Meaning to the Word "Babysitter"

Meet Beth. She is an AMAZING mom of two boys. She says she is 'just a babysitter'...and she is, in a way that is so much MORE than I've ever imagined.

Beth is a surrogate. The baby she is carrying is a girl. She says that as the 'babysitter', she gets to carry and hold and take care of the little one until it's time to go home with her parents.

The baby's name is Molly, and genetically she is 100% of her Mom and Dad! In 4-5 more weeks, Baby Molly will be welcomed by a very excited big brother.

I have to say that I am so humbled and awed by Beth and the gift she is giving to this family....I don't think I could do it! After carrying a child I wouldn't want to let her go but Beth is really a "big-picture"person, with a mother's spirit and a giving heart...definitely more than the 'babysitter' she gives herself credit for.

If you are expecting and would love to schedule a 'tummy session' with me, I would love the opportunity to mark this special moment in your pregnancy with you.

Stunning, Beautiful Kids & Family Portrait Session

I had a great time with this family. All of them were very sweet, and look at the HAPPINESS in all of their faces. What a family!! The kids loved my camera and needless to say they are stunningly beautiful! Both sets of parents were visiting from Bombay, India, and I was blessed to be there to cover the momentous event!
