I met the Polovado's a few years ago right before thier magazine came out. They are super awesome people. Having 2 children of thier with special needs, they wanted parents to have a place to go so they could help and answers.... Here are some images from our family session with them. The testimony here is that Ashlyn smiled AND looked at the camera which has never happened during a family portrait before. She said my name too! After 3 years she is saying my name. Thats HUGE..

My new FInd!!

Yesterday when we were driving Morgan to dance she said, "Momma, look! A white couch" so I turned aroudn to look and it was a vintage ivory queen anne couch. GORGEOS! It got better.... there was a man there to help me load it in the vehicle... I can't wait to post pictures!

Joshua's new smile...

Joshua lost his top tooth last week, and we knew the one beside it would fall out next. Well, it fell yesterday. We were swimming at the lake and all of a sudden Joshua comes to me and says, 'here', and then runs off.. It was so funny because I didn't know what he was handing me 'till he was gone. He is soooooooooo stinkin' cute. I just love this stage. Their snaggle tooth smiles are the best, and it's very temporary. It's the beginning of a much bigger step in the lives. It makes me sad to see something from his baby-hood leave him, but it is something that must happen. We love photographing this stage in all the kids we photograph. It's something to always be remembered..and it's very special, too. Here are a few of my little man's new smile....

Tuesday I was really itching to do a photo session since I was on vacation for nearly 2 weeks. I called up my friend that owns Sew Cute Creations and asked her to meet me in down town Mckinney because we were gonna take some pics for her website. Luckily, she was available and went with the 'craziness of an unscheduled, drop everything I'm doing right now portrait session'. All my friends know by now I am very spur of the moment and love living my life by the seat of my pants. It keeps life interesting:)

Here are some pictures from that portrait session. Taylor is her 3 year old daughter, and Morgan is my 10 year daughter. Since Morgan is older, we went a different route and not so 'cutesy'. More like Punkie Brewster LOL... A petti-skirt session is perfect for 1 year olds and up.

I had the honor of photographing my best friend's son for his senior pictures. He chose downtown Dallas-Deep Ellum, and the West End. We had a blast in the almost 100 degree heat (hee hee), but he was a real trooper and never once complained.

This car was awesome...it was just sitting there and we were given permission to use it in our portriats... How cool is that!

I am so far behind on my sneak peaks...but I had to post these of my friend Cessilye and her hubby. These 2 are so amazing. You can see in the pictures how much they love each other. I had a blast photographing them. Cessilye is such a blessing in my life. Just knowing her makes my life better. I love it when she smiles and her dimple shows up:)

These guys were such troopers, they met me in the blue bonnets at 6:30 am!! Yeppers, we got started early because we wanted a sunrise picture. They knew there was no promise of a beautiful sunrise. I got to photograph a family in RED..Isn't it STRIKING!! I took so many wonderful pictures that it was so hard to narrow down what to share with you. The kids are absolutely amazing...all their pictures are wondeful. But Alas..I had to narrow it down or this wouldn't be called a sneak peak :)

Lenny and Lilly???

You would think we had 2 lambs in our studio, but we didn't.... we took 3 images to make 1 gorgoeus portrait. Little man wasn't sitting up very well, so the portriats of him and his big sister weren't working out. I decided to create one for her because she really wanted a group portrait. Mom was so thrilled with what we did, and I was just tad bit proud of myself as well :) It was the first time I had ever taken a baby that wasn't in the picture and put him there.. Marc perfected it once I started it on..it was amazing to see the final print. It was printed on 20x16 cavas, and absolutely gorgeous!

Resurrection Cookies

In honor of Easter, Here is a fun recipe to do with the kids. It illustrates the death and resurrection of Jesus. These cookies are amazingly delicious!Annie's "Resurrection Cookies" Page
~Also known as Easter Story Cookies~

This is a great recipe to teach your Children the REAL story of Easter. That the Lord Jesus Christ
our Savior is not dead but has Risen. We serve a Risen Savior......

This activity can be done as a "family" or for Sunday School. Of course the Sunday School option might
be to hand it out to the class with a note to the parents. Grandparents might considering
doing this with their grandchildren this year too!!!

So Grab your Apron and Let's Get Started!!!!!!!

You will need:
1 cup whole pecans
1 teaspoon vinegar
3 egg whites
a pinch salt
1 cup sugar
a zipper baggy
1 wooden spoon
scotch tape
Bible

Instructions:
These are to be made the evening before Easter. Preheat oven to 300F.
*** (this is very important --- don't wait until you are half done with the recipe).
Place pecans in zipper baggy and let children beat them with the wooden spoon
to break into small pieces. Explain that after Jesus was arrested. He
was beaten by the Roman soldiers. Read: John 19:1-3

Let each child smell the vinegar. Put 1 teaspoon vinegar into mixing bowl.
Explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the cross He was given vinegar
to drink. Read: John 19:28-30

Add egg whites to vinegar. Eggs represent life. Explain that Jesus gave His life
to give us life. Read: John 10:10&11

Sprinkle a little salt into each child's hand. Let them taste it and brush the rest
into the bowl. Explain that this represents the salty tears shed by Jesus' followers,
and the bitterness of our own sin. Read: Luke 23:27

So far the ingredients are not very appetizing. Add 1 cup sugar. Explain that the
sweetest part of the story is that Jesus died because He loves us. He wants us to
know and belong to Him. Read: Psalm 34:8 and John 3:16

Beat with a mixer on high speed for 12 to 15 minutes until stiff peaks are formed.
Explain that the color white represents the purity in God's eyes of those whose sins
have been cleansed by Jesus. Read: Isaiah 1:18 and John 3:1-3

Fold in broken nuts. Drop by teaspoon onto waxed paper covered cookie sheet.
Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where Jesus' body was laid.
Read: Matthew 27:57-60

Put the cookie sheet in the oven, close the door and turn the oven OFF.

Give each child a piece of tape and seal the oven door.
Explain that Jesus' tomb was sealed. Read: Matthew 27:65-66

GO TO BED!

Explain that they may feel sad to leave the cookies in the oven overnight.
Jesus' followers were in despair when the tomb was sealed. Read: John 16:20&22

On Resurrection Sunday (Easter) morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice the cracked
surface and take a bite. The cookies are hollow! On the first Easter Jesus' followers were amazed
to find the tomb open and empty. Read: Matthew 28:1-9

Oh how sweet this is!! Luke's mom called me all excited about the lamb, but wanted her little man to still look like a baby, so this is what we came up with.... we used a custom made chenille diaper cover from Sew Cute Creations http://sewcutecreations.net/ and one his baby blankets..simple, but adorabl! She was so very happy with her pictures. We did some with the bunnies when Lenny got tired :)

Desi had a little lamb...

I have been wanting to journal what it's like to have a baby lamb living with us... The child hood nursey song 'Mary had a little lamb' has all new meaning for me:)
He is just like having an infant. He wants to eat every few hours, he follows us around everywhere we go, and he loves to snuggle with us when he's tired so he can go to sleep. He's so cute! When he see's his bottle he comes running, and his tail wags when he see's it. His tail also wags when he see's us. It's so adorable. We know we are his 'parents' for now.
I don't think he realizes that he is a lamb. I have grown quite fond of him. We already have an awesome home for him when we are through taking pictures with him. He will have acres to run on, and goats and other animals to play with. So he will be quite happy.
Last week he got to go on his first vacation out of Texas. We went to Louisiana for a few days.
While there, Marc's sister Melissa took these pics of us. Lenny has also gotten to visit the barber shop and the post office as well. Pet Smart really enjoyed thier visit with Lenny,too. By the time he reaches his new home in the country, he will be a well seasoned lamb with plenty of worldy experience...

I like to think that he is smiling in this picture....

Lenny Lamb portraits

We are having so much fun with our Lenny Lamb sessions. The response to our spring sesssions has been overwhelming, but in a very good way. Our parents are loving how gentle and adorable he is. We even let the kids feed him. He's still a baby, so he likes to eat alot :) He see's his bottle and he goes running for it. The little ones have a good time feeding him. We send our parents home with a FREE image of thier child feeding Lenny so they can always remember what they got to do when they came to visit him. It's not only the kids that love it, but the parents do, too! One of our grandparents that came to help with the grand children while we did pictures snuggled Lenny for a very long time. Lenny loves to snuggle! Some of our other little friends put Lenny down for a nap by snuggling him under a blanket for a little while. He was very tired, so he needed to rest. I am sure they will be talking about this for a very long time:)

I just couldn't resist... no one will know just by looking at him that he's a boy, right??

Besides, isn't it natural for a little girl to dress up everything:) If anyone asks.. she can call him Lilly.

We just got Lenny Lamb yesterday! He's just in time for spring pictures. I wanted to give you all the heads up and first chance at sessions with Lenny. I will have some examples shortly, but I was so excited for everyone to see him that I had to let you know right away!

Our first evening with Lenny has been much like taking care of a newborn. He wants to snuggle all day long, and sit in our laps. He is just so cute! He will love your children!! He is bottle fed, so snuggling with us is his favorite thing to do.

We just got Lenny today! He's absolutely beautiful. He was born on Feb. 4th...(remember that, you MIGHT need to know it later). I will be uploading pictures of him, but we just gave him his bath (boy was the fun!), and now he is all snuggled up in a blanket and sleeping. Lenny is so sweet. He prefers to be snuggled ALOT..!! Meet Isabella.. my brand new niece. She was born in December, and was 2 weeks old when these were taken. Talk about chubby! She is a chunk...and has a head full of hair. I had to take a picture of just her head to show everyone! she is so precious..
I have another little secret.. I did this entire photo session in the back of my van! We couldn't set up studio lights in thier house, so I used the back of my mini-van as a studio. The lighting come through was beautiful. Although I wasnt' able to get all the usual shots, i got the ones his mom wanted.

I had fun with these little guys the other day. We did a photo shoot for Valentines Day and this is what we came up with. This was also a 'model' shoot for a friend of mine just starting out as a photgrapher, and these are some of the portraits I took :) These little guys also met me earlier that day for my Valentine Promo shoot with the LOVE collage. They did a great job and were real troopers. Elijah (the red head) has his 'cheese' face down by the end of the day. Don't you just love his hair!

Psuedo urban photo shoot

Yesterday I met with my photographer friend Nicole to teach her soem photography stuff. She shadowed me while using Morgan and Joshua and a few other kids as models..

These are some of the pictures I took....Joshua and Morgan did a real good job of lisening and
posing so that Nicole could some pictures for her portfolio. When it finally got down the last picture, I had to promise to let Joshua play video games as a reward because he was getting pretty of tired of taking pictures.. but once the words video game were spoken, he gave me just a few more minutes of his time...

Our trip home for the holidays

Trips home for the holidays involve what I call making the 'great circle route'. We leave Dallas and head to Shreveport, La. and from there we head to Baton Rouge. Only this time Marc wanted to see how the GPS system would bring us. Wouldn't you know it was set to AVOID main highways, so it brought us through all the little po-dunk towns LOL... And in one of those little towns at 3am we get stopped by a police officer. God has give us so much of His favor and grace because he could have given us a speeding ticket but didn't. He gave Marc a non-moving violation instead. You know how little towns are, you see the speed limit sign and slow down but you don't have quite enough time to slow down by the time you see it.. :)

So a 7 hour trip turned into 12 hours. The GPS directed us all the way to the ferry in Port Allen! We never had to get on the ferry to get to Gonzales, so we had a big laugh at 6am when we rolled up in front of that. We stayed at my dads a few days and I got see my new niece. From there we went to Osyka, Ms. to see my mom. The kids loved running around on 60 acres in the country. We also visited New Orleans and went to the aquarium of th Americas as well. From there, we went to Monroe, La. and stayed with Marc's parents for a few days. By the time we got home, I was so glad to sleep in my bed. It was great to be home..

Pictures with my twin sister Lon and her husband Milton along with Marc, Joshua and Morgan. Both Lon and I are professional photographers, so guess who took the picture??? We framed up the shot the way we wanted it , bribed the kiddos to smile, Lon set the timer and then ran into the shot. We did this 5 times to get the perfect one:)

New Orleans

We went to New Orleans during the Christmas holidays. Next time, Marc and I are going by ourselves and leaving the kiddos with there grandparents :) Once Joshua saw the sharks and the jelly fish and sea horses at the aquarium, that was all he cared about. He wanted to go home. They did not enjoy the historical significance of New Orleans or the culture, and all that walking.... well they didn't enjoy that at all! I wish I had a hov-a-round for each of the kids.. I just knew they would enjoy it, but not so. I suppose I should have realized that New Orleans was more interesting to me because I grew up in Louisiana with all it's culture, etc, but not so much for the little ones. Joshua was so afraid his mommy was gonna get left behind and get lost, that he didn't want me taking pictures :)

In the rain forest at the aquarium...and you see the extreme in the kids shirts?? Well it was over 76 degrees that December Day! It was literally warm enough for Morgan to wear a tank top.

This was feeding time for the manta rays.. It was a frenzy, they were so cool to watch. I love to watch them, they always look like they are smiling, like nothing ever gets them down ;)

Mommy, Let's get married

I took these pictures yesterday while we were at Watters Creek in Allen. It was soooooooooo cold. Quite a shock considering it was 70 something degrees the day before. We were out there because a friend of mine is trying to start a photography business, and needed to build her portfolio, so I volunteered my kiddos. It's great to have someone else take thier pics LOL...

So after it was over we were walking around and Joshua decided to pick me a flower and ask me to marry me. He starts performing the ceremony. He says, "Mommy, will you marry me? I picked you flower, now give me a hug and a kiss." and then that was that. ... boys are so sweet...I don't know what I did to deserve such a sweet son, but I am so blessed. I know one day, his little heart will be smitten by another young lady, and he won't always want hugs and kisses from me, but for now he does and I will enjoy this time with him while he still thinks I am the best 'it'.

I am so far behind on my blogging, but I will get back in the swing of things soon and post pictures and other fun stuff. I had to share my conversation with Morgan tonight. She was doing her daily Bible devotion and came to ask me about spending time with God. She said, 'I say 2 prayers every night, the Lord's prayer, and then I have my conversation with Him'. How do I spend time with Him?" So we talked about it for a minute, and she decided that she really just wanted to put on some praise and worship music and sing and dance. She loves to sing and dance especially when we are at church to praise and worship music. We have plenty here at the house and with the new radio system her Paw-Paw got her for Christmas, she listens to her music and can worship whenever she wants. I think the idea of sitting quietly for a few minutes waiting for God to talk to her made her a bit nervous, but that will change as her relationship grows and she matures. So I told her I loved that she knew the Lord's prayer by heart because I don't even know it by heart, and she says, 'Well, you can have my pillow. It will take you about a week to learn it reading it everyday." Her Mo'mie (Grandmother in french) made her a pillow with the Lord's prayer on one side, and it is her favorite pillow. She went to sleep every night reading the Lord's Prayer till she remembered it.

The Desai Family

All I can say is WOW... thier family picture turned out gorgeous. We hit the right day because their waterfall picture was stunning. I had such a great time with the Desai's. Their children were so picture perfect in everyone. I secretely think she coached them before coming out the shoot LOL... Everyone was color coordinated perfectly. Thier son looks just like a young George Hamilton. One of my other clients (happens to be Angela's friend) thought he favored my little Joshua alot. I kept thinking the same thing, too. Pictures of Marc and I

We finally had pictures done of just us.. Marc and I hadn't had any pictures that were decent since we got married. So we called our very talented photographer friend Jennifer and told her what we wanted. We wanted her to treat us like we were engaged. The idea here is to show that we are still in love after all these years, and it's OK to take a picture without your children in it LOL. So the focus was meant to be on us, and we had family pics done a few weeks later. We had such a great time, and people were actually congratulating us while were doing our pictures. So we got the idea across. Between Jennifer's ideas and mine, I was so happy with my images, and I will treasure them always..

Dear God

At church Sunday it came time to pray. While we were all praying, Joshua decided to scribble out his own prayer to God. He said, Dear God, please bring me some Night Vision 'Gobbles' (night vision goggles), it's all I have ever wanted. Joshua doesn't believe in Santa Clause, so as far as he was concerned if he was gonna get those Night Vision Goggles, God was gonna have to bring it to him. Well that night, we celebrated Christmas in our home with the kids because we were leaving the next day for Baton Rouge. Joshua got those 'gobbles', and he was so excited. Morgan had asked for a pink guitar. We hid the guitar and wrapped up the pick and guitar strap. She was so excited when she opened them. I told her she would have to wait till next Christmas to get the guitar. She grinned real big knowing I was kidding. We told her to go find it, and she played her little heart out most of the evening. I will be posting pictures soon.

Dallas photo shoot with the Oby's

A few weeks ago the Oby's contacted me wanting a family picture. But they didn't want just any family picture. They wanted some of the kids from the Mercy Street Ministry they work for to be in the picture as well. They also wanted the Dallas skyline behind them. We went to this park that was close to thier home. It was soooooooo cold, we didn't do all the individual pictures we normally do because we had to get the babies warm again, but we did manage to get everything they wanted plus a few fun ones. I had such a great time with them. Looking forward to seeing them again in abut 7 months for her maternity pictures!! Here are some of my favorite portraits from yesterday..

we had family pictures done a few weeks ago, but when i was at the arboretum, I saw this gorgeous spot, and just had to have one taken at it. So I called a friend of mine and he came out and took it for us. I love this picture. I had always dreamed of a fall picture and this surpassed my expectation. Thanks Darren! Since we had ours done, I went back one more time to use this location. I will be posting some more soon.

Oh my goodness! I am so excited..
I went looking for Joshua's missing tooth.. it was hard to find it because the kids
had spilled popcorn in the room. Everytime I got excited thinking it was his tooth, t was a popcorn kernal! I am going to post some new pics soon of his toothless grin..but I am on cloud 9 at the moment! That tooth represents the last of his baby-hood that I can hold in my hands....
Joshua is gonna be excited in the morning..the Tooth Ninja will make his appearance tonight!

Mithing Tooth, AGAIN !!

Joshua lost his second tooth the other day. I just knew I would get to keep this one as the last one fell out at 5am and he let it go down the bathroom drain. So the other day he comes to me and tells me his tooth fell out. I asked him where it was, and he said his room. Oh..if only he could understand how it important it is to his Mommy that I have that little tooth. The last time he lost his tooth I told him the tooth ninja would still come (we have a boy...there is no tooth fairy heee heee). Morgan is at the age where she knows there is no such thing, it's the 'tooth-momma'. She loves that. We do something special everytime she loses one, but she knows it comes from us... Joshua I think knows that, too. We just want to make every milestone growing up special, even it's the 10th tooth they are losing. My little ones aren't so little anymore and there are days that I long for that "Johnson and Johnson" baby smell, and the 2am feedings. I suppose this is why I am a photographer. I am so richly blessed to capture all these milestones in not only Morgan and Joshua's lives, but the lives of others as well.

Santa's family pictures

Chuck is the person that dresses up in the big red suit and is playing Santa for me this year.
So yesterday I got to do some pictures of his family at his home without the big red-suit :) I had a great time with them. Chuck is so funny...The photo session was a complete blast for Marc and I. I had such a good time photographing the Williams family a few weeks ago. They were so much fun, and they are just a wonderful family. The girls are so precious to photograph. They made it so easy, too. They were your typical giggly girls. Needless to say, I had alot of fun. When I went to their home for their order session, the girls were very involved in helping Mom and Dad pick out the best portraits:)

The past few days with Joshua have been quite 'spirited' to say the least.
He has been bouncing off the walls...
Well tonight I decided he had to take time to relax. I ran him some bath water, brought some soft instrumental jazz music (Christmas selections) in to the bathroom, and made him lie down in the water and relax. I got out some Arbonne Ginger Citrus body scrub because the smell is so amazing, and told him I was going to put some oil on him. He gets up real quick and says, "I don't want to be a car!". I guess in his mind, oil is for a car LOL. So I got him to let me scrub him down with the Ginger Citrus, and I told him he had to relax and lie back and shut his eyes for just a few minutes. He says, "can I have some pickles on my eyes?" I am guessing what he thought were pickles were actually cucumbers.. LOL.
It was hilarious.

Interesting photos

My twin sister (yes, I have a twin), is a photographer in Florida. She has the opportunity to do alot of nature photography. She's really good at it, too.
The pictures of the wild cats were taken at Bear Creek Feline Center in FLorida. It's a Feline rescue. She gets to go in the cages with the big cats. Lon was telling me awesome it is when the bobcat sits next to you and purrs.

I want to send out a very special thank-you to Shannon Jamail at Kids and Art in Frisco. Kids and Art hosted a special Halloween photo shoot on Halloween, and the kids all had a great time.
Check out Kids and Art for some wonderful art classes. They truely love your children over there, and are so patient. Joshua has aspergers and they were were so wonderful, patient and understanding with my sweet little, often high spirited little man. (There are alot of you who know exactly what I am talking about). They are just abosuley awesome. It makes me feel really good that my children have the opportunty to take art over there. They even do adult classes!

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this little boutique kitty cat costume! She is so sweet in it, and when's done with it, she can use the skirt with a plain body suit and go for a whole new look.. Her Moma is teaching her at a young age how to get new looks with what you have... (her mom is a cute dresser anyway, so she get's it honestly!)

These twins are too gorgeous to be little witches, but I supose it won't hurt for one evening-they looked pretty cute just the same! Baby sister is their sweet little tabby kitty.

You have to love this idea! These siblings are super cute, and they are 1st cousins to the triplets below them. Their pictures are going to be there Christmas cards!Aren't they absolutely adorable!

The Bride and Groom wore Converse!

A few weeks ago I had so much fun photographing Cami and Brian. It was very relaxed and wonderful. They wore black converses!! It was awesome. I had such a great time with them. Here are some of my favorite pictures. Their wedding was outdoors at a park in Mckinney. It was really a really nice day for them to be married to on, and I wish them a lifetime of wonderful times and love. The pictures shown are before and after the wedding at the park. I didn't get to meet them before the wedding, so there was no formal bridal shoot. I tried to catch her up on bridal pictures afterwards with the limited time we had before they left. (For those of you who are surprised because you didn't know I photographed weddings, I have been photographing weddings for 5 years :)

I was so excited to be able to photograph this cutie pie today! Her mom brought her in the cutest outfits. We had discussed and planned the portrait session last week, so today the pictures turned out exactly how I envisioned.
The most wonderful cake that I have ever tasted came from Amanda Hughes with Delightful Designs Tx. I couldn't believe how great it tasted..and it smelled like Heaven.
